Hi
For last two months I am facing some problem regarding ranking and supplemental results.

The domain of the sites are “add it now” (.co.uk)
“3 contract mobile phones” (.co.uk)
* remove the spaces

The first site used to rank very good on google but now it is now where in google. The latest PR update has given 3 – 4 PR for most of the static pages but there no change in ranking.

The second site is ranking for general words such as “ mobiles, phones, mobile phones” but it is not ranking for handset specific keywords.
These two sites are part of white label business.

Can anyone put some light on the above mentioned problem.

Welcome to SEO-Talk!

You should not take the PR shown in the Google Toolbar that seriously. What is important is the real internal PR that Google uses and which is updated constantly. The internal PR is exported to the Toolbar every 3 months or so. However, this does not apply to all sites. Therefore what you are seeing in the toolbar may reflect something that had happened months before.

In any case, PR is just one of many ranking factors. What is quite certain is that the importance of PR has declined in the past 2 years. Duplicate content and spam filters are much more likely to have an effect on rankings irrespective of how well the site is optimized and how many backlinks you have got.

The effect of these filters could lead to a decrease in the number of pages indexed or pushing most of your pages to the supplementary index. This is what may have happened with more specific keywords as they are more likely to belong to your deeper pages.

I would look at the no. of pages indexed and the no. of pages in the supplemental index. There had been a no. of suggestions on how to get the pages our of the supplemental index but I have not been able to reverse this myself

... PR has nothing to do with ranking ... moving a notch up from 3 to 4 is not going to improve your ranking ... if I am not wrong online mobile phone is very competitive so you definitely need a lot of sites linking back to you ... also your inner pages are all dynamic with long strings, not that its hurting but its definitely not helping, you might want to look in -Modrewrite- to create SE friendly URL ...
