Will Yahoo still dominate in another 5 years?

Well, if you look around these days, the feedback from general public is that less and less people are using Yahoo now as their search engine? What do you guys think? I think it will end up something like Altavista. Forgotten.

I don't know about that. I believe Yahoo is loosing it's footing some, but with it being one of what I consider the top 5 websites online, I think it would be a long fall.

Their search might not be famous as the google search but the entire yahoo site will still be famous. Their search will never be forgotten as I believe that it is th #2 search engine and it will not go down further than #2.

Well, among search engines Google is the best compared to yahoo. Many people are preferring Google only, but it doesn't means yahoo will be forgotten and it will face an end its impossible. They are next to Google in search engines.

due to heavy competition. companies trying to give service according to the interest of people of their own region and locality and its difficult for any company to maintain it when there is huge competition around it. there were days where yahoo and google enjoyed dominance but now no more .

I believe it yahoo can still dominate not only for 5 years. But more than that. I believe also you already heard that microsoft try to buy yahoo right? Did you think yahoo will take that offer?

Only time will tell what is in store for Yahoo.

I see them either staying around, not relying on search to stay open, or being swallowed up by others.
