Link Dumps for Backlinks

I was just wondering if anyone was actively using link dumps as a way of advertising their site, generating some traffic and obtaining a few backlinks. I realise that most dumps use a redirect script to send traffic but a few use ordinary hyperlinks.

I'm not familiar with link dump but since it's a bad way of getting traffic I agree with erikko it was a black hat.
