Default How does Google handle secure content?

The question I have is about how Google handles secure content. Imagine I was the publisher of the Wall Street Journal. I want my articles to appear in organic search results on Google.com w/ the appropriate teaser. Then if a person clicks, they should be asked to sign up to view the content. The question is around the "cached" functionality on Google. Will that "cached" link be available for people to read the content? Or does Google hide that cached link for secure content

if your article page is crawled and indexed by google and ranks in serps then when people click on your link it will take them to the page where visitors can read your article.. If you content is not indexed then how can it rank for your targeted keywords
